For a long time, Apple introduced new iPhones in September every year, but don’t expect it in 2020.
Releasing its quarterly earnings figures a few days ago, Apple confirmed to Lexus that the iPhone 12 series and the new iPad will be introduced later this year.
Apple’s new iPhones and iPad models are expected to launch in October
As you know, last year we started selling iPhones at the end of September, but this year we estimate that new devices will be available a few weeks later,
said Luca Masteri, Apple’s CFO.
Last year, the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro were launched on September 20 in different countries of the world.
John Prosser, known for leaks of Apple’s devices, was the first to announce the late launch of the iPhone this year and said it would be unveiled in October.
A Bloomberg report in June of this year quoted Broadcom CEO Hawk Tan as saying that a major US mobile phone company was facing delays in the development of the devices.
Broadcom is one of the companies providing chips for Apple’s iPhones, and Hawk Tan often refers to Apple in the same way, according to the report.
Broadcom’s revenue is expected to increase in the third quarter of the year due to mass production of Apple’s iPhones (usually introduced in September), but this year Broadcom did not expect that. This is likely to happen in the fourth quarter.
Broadcom’s third quarter is from May to July, and Hook Tan’s statement indicates that production of the iPhone 12 is likely to start late, and that it may be introduced in October or later instead of September.
In April, the Wall Street Journal reported that Apple’s mass production of the iPhone 12 had been delayed for a month.
Japanese site Nikkei said in March that the introduction of the new iPhone could be delayed by several months.
Delays in sub-reports have been attributed to the Corona virus epidemic, which has slowed down the manufacturing of devices and forced Apple to temporarily close all its retail stores around the world.
The Bloomberg report also said that the global epidemic has made it difficult for Apple experts to travel to China to finalize new iPhones.
Apple is expected to introduce 4 new iPhones this year
Two of the cheaper models will have 5.4-inch and 6.1-inch screens, while the two flagship models will have 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch displays.
All phones will have OLED displays, but flagship devices can offer a 120 Hz refresh rate.
The new phones will have an upgraded Face Eye system, while according to some rumors, the iPhones may now be equipped with a larger battery and 3x optical zoom in the cameras.
